Privacy Policy

Data practices in the app

The app does not include developer-operated advertising, cross-app tracking, usage analytics, crash-analysis SDKs, login accounts, subscriptions, chat, or public posting features. The app does not send personal data to a server operated by the developer.

Apple services, GitHub Pages, email providers, and a save or sharing service you choose may process information independently as described below.

Location

The app requests a one-time location only after you choose Current Location and grant permission in the system prompt. It uses the resulting latitude and longitude to set the observing point and does not implement continuous location tracking.

Permission is optional. You can select a point on the map, search for a place, or enter latitude and longitude. These alternatives avoid Core Location permission, but map, search, and reverse-geocoding requests may still be processed by Apple services.

Apple Maps

The app uses MapKit and Apple Maps for map display, place search, reverse geocoding, and time-zone completion. Requests such as the visible map region, search terms, or coordinates may be processed by Apple. The app contains no custom networking that sends these requests to a developer-operated server.

On-device storage

Display settings are stored in UserDefaults. Favorite observing locations can include a name, latitude, longitude, time-zone identifier, and an app-generated identifier, and are stored in an on-device SQLite database.

A selected observing point and location-specific calculation results may also be cached on the device even when the point is not saved as a favorite. That cache can contain coordinates and event or model information.

The app does not provide its own account sync, CloudKit sync, or backup to a developer server. Operating-system backup, offloading, and removal behaviour varies, so removing the app should not be treated as a guarantee that every copy has been deleted.

Export and sharing

CSV and JSON exports may include an observing-location name, latitude, longitude, and time zone as well as eclipse data. PNG and PDF exports may include location or event information visible on the screen.

On Mac, you choose the save location. On iPhone and iPad, the app creates a temporary export and presents the system sharing sheet. After export, the privacy practices of the destination or sharing service you choose apply. The app does not automatically upload exports to a developer server.

Support email and GitHub Issues

If you email support, your email address, message, and any attachments are processed by the developer and the relevant email providers in connection with handling your support request. Do not send personal or confidential information that is not needed for support. Contact kondofumikazu@icloud.com with a question about the handling or deletion of a support message.

GitHub Issues is public. Your GitHub user name, profile information, and submitted content may be visible to others and are processed under GitHub Privacy Statement. Do not post passwords, Apple IDs, API keys, your address, your exact current location, or other personal information.

Children's privacy

The app is not designed to collect personal data and does not provide age profiles, accounts, chat, or public posting inside the app. Children and guardians should not send personal information through support email or public GitHub Issues. A guardian can contact kondofumikazu@icloud.com with a question about information sent for support.

This website and GitHub Pages

This site does not add its own analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, input forms, or client-side scripts. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process access logs and other technical information needed to operate and secure the service. See GitHub Privacy Statement.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this policy and the applicable App Store privacy responses will be updated and the revised policy will be published on this page.
